Sorry to hear you are having problems with the bmw. When i sold =20
the car it was in good running order with no problems. Unfortunately =20
these things cannot be detected ahead of time unless it happens. As =20
far as the transmission having to be rebuilt or replaced, i really =20
don't think it needs that because you said the trans program light =20
came on. As far as i know that should be a computerized thing and =20
would have to be programed as it says or reset. I don't think a =20
transmission that shifted smooth would go bad all of a sudden and need =20
rebuilding, although an electronic transmission might need programing. =20
Let me ask around and see if i can find out about the trans program, =20
and i will get back to you as soon as i can!
